The Fairgrounds Nashville will bring a world-class Chinese lantern festival to Music City in May. Tickets for China Lights – Illuminating The Fairgrounds will go on sale today at www.ChinaLightsTN.com. The festival, produced by Festival Pro, LLC, will be the first of its kind in the Mid-South and will feature brilliantly lit large-scale lanterns along with Chinese folk-culture activities, cuisine and entertainment.
“We’re excited to showcase The Fairgrounds Nashville in a whole new light this spring,” said Laura Schloesser, Executive Director of The Fairgrounds Nashville. “Festival-goers will be delighted by the exquisite lantern sculptures, traditional performances, beautiful art and delicious cuisine. It’s going to a great family adventure.”
The unique celebration brings a team of Chinese artisans and technical staff from Sichuan Tianyu, located in Zigong, China to Tennessee to create a magical, vibrant paradise of lit displays. The China Lights Festival will open May 12th and run through June 11th. The festival’s four-week run will feature over 30 grand displays that will illuminate nine acres of The Fairgrounds Nashville.

Nashville, TN (January 28, 2017) — The Fairgrounds Executive Director Laura Schloesser announced today that The Fairgrounds Nashville has entered into an agreement with Festival Pro, LLC to bring a world-class Chinese lantern festival to The Fairgrounds Nashville. Nashville is the first Mid-South city to schedule the unequalled China Lights, a festival featuring brilliantly lit large-scale lanterns along with Chinese folk-culture activities, cuisine, and entertainment.
Opening May 12, the festival’s four-week run will feature over 30 grand displays that will illuminate nine acres of The Fairgrounds Nashville. Complete details will be presented at a press conference scheduled for April 8, 2017.
